The Church of St Peter and St Paul
Olney
Our 14th Century church with its tall spire is the first thing you will see as you approach Olney from the south (from Newport Pagnell).
The church plays an active part in the community of Olney. We host the world famous Olney Pancake Race, run every Shrove Tuesday and followed by the Shriving Service. We also host the Cherry Fair and a Christmas Tree Festival, as well as other events and occasional concerts throughout the year.
The church attracts many visitors because of John Newton, who wrote the famous hymn ‘Amazing Grace’ while at Olney and who is buried in our churchyard.
We have a range of worship services, groups and activities for people of all ages – you can find out more about these using the links below.
